Design Exercise #1

So I've been working on getting myself to do design exercises. The idea is to do something everyday. But, as we know for most of us that isn't how these things work. So I'm trying to at least do one every other day, or a couple once in a while, or at least as close to every day as I can. I found a sweet exercise on art nectar. It's at least a pretty fun start. You basically do your best to create an album cover with what you're given at random. Start with a random wikipedia page (band name), then the end of a random quote (album title), and a random picture from flickr (starting image) and somehow assemble it all in photoshop or illustrator. It's hard sometimes because the images aren't always that great or easy to work with. You get good ones, you get un-inspired ones. But it's good to work with whatever you have. So every once in a while I'll post one of my more successful exercises. The above image is one of the first I did. As I come up with other exercises and designs they'll end up here too.
